CRIMSON CROWN DEVELOPMENT
This 2 weeks big focus:
Final implementation of Chip Mechanics
UI Direction
SHADERS
Chip Mechanic
So a big change is that we switch from using Items, Weapons, and "Traits" to instead using Ability Chips and Defense Chips.
This change was made because:
A. It fits the context of the game since B0 is a robot. Chips make sense in that context.
B. Way simpler to understand, requires minimal explanation.
C. Choosing chips is a more meaningful decisions.

UI and Shaders
So UI has been the neglected ugly step child of this games' development. Instead of feeding her, I was out partying with my cools friends, game systems implementation, environmental assets, FINAL STORY DRAFT.
But I am a deadbeat no longer! Now that the story is finalized, I have information needed to better inform the UI, and the appropriate inspiration to draw on. That is why, the new UI is presented as a CRT tv, complete with scan lines and pixel UI elements.
This required writing a shader to process the final game image after it is renderered. These aren't just lines, they are each individual pixels with rgb cells properly lit to match the game pixel value. This new element not only makes the game look like a tv screen, it also allows for things like colors be displayed if the player takes damages or activates and ability( look at how the screen turns blue with the [Time Stop] ability. It also has a GLITCH value which becomes visible when the player takes damage!

IN CONCLUSION
A lot of good progress, the game feels like it's growing into its identity every commit that's pushed!

Fight and Flight is finally out on Newgrounds and I gotta say I'm kinda blown away by how positively yall recieved this game!

Well my hypothetical friend, I have been quite busy.

So, this summer. I'm dedicating a huge chunk of time to increase my pixel skills and understanding of art.
My goal is to
Make a part time wage through commissions.
Improve my understanding of art and explore areas of art I'm weak at.
To establish my self as a top level pixel artist (atleast in florida)
*GAME DEVELOPMENT*
Aside from art, I want to push out some games as well during summer.
Every Month, I'm doing a game jam with my discord group.
I want to push my self to publish a game atleast once a month.
Aside from the the jams, I am working on a bigger scale game with my friend Perris called Project: Prometheus.
My goal with this project is to get it to a point where we can pitch it to game investors.

So I became affiliate this month which really was a moral boost for me.
I'm really determined to grow my audience and hopefully help them out with thier persuites
(whether it be art, animation, or game develpoment).
Or atleast entertain them lol.
I'm doing a monthly give aways of Aseprite + Sketch commissions.
( not to mention sub/follower goals events )

I hope everybody had a good end of the year. The end of 2016 was kinda of rough but I have a good feeling about 2017. I got some projects I can't wait to show you guys. I wish the best for whatever endeavers you persue. Lets make this one a great one. Buh-By!
